The example of industrial radiography is when a radiation source is lowered into piping to the location of a weld and, with photographic film wrapped on the outside of the weld, a radiograph of the weld is taken to assure it is free of defect.
There are several educational establishments in the USA that offer an opportunity of getting a degree in industrial radiography. College of St. Joseph in Vermont College of St. Joseph is a private, Catholic College located in Rutland, Vermont. The College began in 1956. Nowadays this educational establishment offers 3 Industrial Radiography courses. Associate of Science in Radiography The modules include ENG101 Introduction to College Writing, CIS101ABD Computer Literacy, Social Science (History, Geography, Political Science, and ECO 101), Behavioral Science (Sociology, Psychology courses, Human Services, Anthropology), Elective in Philosophy and/or Religious Studies.
The program allows students to broaden their academic background in order to expand the opportunities in their career path and remain flexible to the interests of the student. Entry requirements are the same as for the Associate degree.
The A.S. degree has been specifically designed to complement and credential an accredited program in radiologic technology. There are several entry requirements for those individuals who want to get an Associate degree in radiography.
Students must have obtained a high school college preparatory program that includes 4 years of English, 3 years of Math, 2 years of Social Science, 2 years of Natural Science, and 5 other academic subjects. Admission of a current high school student is contingent upon successful completion of the senior year and receipt of a high school diploma. I
